Jaguar Land Rover is developing a technology capable of autonomous off-road cruising. In the near future it looks like we will see a 4x4 SUV without having to rely on driver in off-road terrain.

There's no doubting the off-road ability of a Land Rover. Along with the splendor of the development of autonomous cars, the British manufacturer is also currently working to develop such a system, certainly the ability of off-road underdog.

An autonomous system off-road Land Rover is a complex system and involves the cooperation of various technologies. The sensor is the spearhead of the operation of this system and its main sensor is able to detect changes in the composition of the road surface up to 5 meters ahead.

This system is connected to the Terrain Response system mode setting to setting the suspension, gear range and traction regulation.

A camera mounted on the top of the windshield that serves to monitor the condition of the top of the road to be bypassed. Sensors installed on this device will detect the presence of the barriers such as tree limbs or other objects.

Besides, sensor in this part serves to provide visual data on the car's computer to slow down and give input when meeting the ideal speed bumpy roads even severe off-road conditions.

So far, the Jaguar-Land Rover said that the project is still limited innovation for experiments, but it looks like someday not be impossible.

Some time earlier, Land Rover has made the device without the driver's offroad on Discovery Sport. But its control is done through a telephone handset that works like a remote control.
