Nissan Hold Their Investment in The UK

Nissan Motor Company (NMC) still hold the investment for their factory in the UK. The company's decision still depends how Brexit (British Exit) can adjust to lacing related EU customs clearance and customs, trade and free movement of goods.


Nissan's Sunderland factory is the largest automobile manufacturer in the UK. The factory also hailed as one of the most efficient factories in Europe, where the sport utility vehicle (SUV) produced the popular Qashqai.

However, most of the products produced in the UK are to be exported to all parts of Europe. Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan said that Nissan and other companies are waiting for the results of talks Brexit, before making new investment decisions.

"The question is what will happen in terms of customs clearance and customs. Then what will happen in terms of trade, what will happen in terms of circulation, especially of products, "Ghosn said in an interview with the BBC, reported by Reuters on Saturday (08/06/2016).

"This is something that is very sensitive that will determine how and how much we will invest in the UK especially for the European market," said Ghosn.

From the survey of business and industry, showed a loss of confidence in the UK economy, after the referendum. Bank of England even cut the benchmark interest rate, as well as several other fiscal policy to stimulate economic growth.

Nissan currently has invested about 4 billion pounds in its manufacturing base in the UK. But today, many companies are closely watching the English divorce from the EU, which could have not been completed until next year.

Nissan's presence in the UK in 1984, and its presence was instrumental in the growth of the British car industry. British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher is the official who signed the agreement arrival of Nissan.
