Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), a non-profit organization agency in the United States recently released a study on the headlamp. IIHS reveals that some SUV got bad results.

IIHS set some criteria used as a measure for determining the performance of a lamp. One is that the light capable to providing maximum illumination to the driver either near lamp or far lamp.

IIHS testing at 21 crossover with 47 different lighting combinations, including using a type of HID lamp or LED.

Too bad, none of the small SUV gets a good rating on an assessment made by IIHS. Only 4 small SUVs are able to snatch the title of 'acceptable' alias mediocre, the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson and Mazda CX-3.

While the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Buick Encore must be satisfied in the category of marginal or poor category.

While the unfortunate fate befell Honda HR-V having to hold the title as the worst-performing lights. Even this degree it bears all the options including the highest level trim equipped with LED technology lights.
IIHS gives recommendations to Honda to revise HRV lights on upcoming models.

All cars in tests using specifications that have been set by the relevant authorities alias using specifications of  USDM (United States Domestic Market).

However IIHS says that this is not quite accurate, because it does not include the results of laboratory research that reflect the driver's habit in America.
