Harley-Davidson released the sales results of the second quarter (Q2) 2016, which decreased 1.9 percent, globally. Domestic sales performance is considered to be one cause.

In its hometown, the United States, sales of HD slumped figure of 5.2 percent compared to Q2 2015. While sales of Harley-Davidson abroad have an upward trend of 4.3 percent.

However, due to the contribution of domestic sales of HD reaches two-thirds of the worldwide total, this led to American domestic sales trend, affecting the company's overall business performance. HD recognizes that the overall two-wheeler market is being dropped, at the rate of 8.6 percent in Q2, 2016.

Although down, the HD claims still dominate in the American market, with a market share reached 49.5 percent. It could just be evidence that the effect of HD is still very strong in its own cage.

"We are very pleased with our ability to dominate the market share in the US. Competitiveness here is getting tight, but demand HD is still pretty good, "said Matt Levatich, President and Chief Executive Officer of Harley-Davidson, from Asphalt and Rubber, Friday (07/29/2019).

Until the end of this year, Harley-Davidson targeting sales 264.000-269.000 units. The figure is not far different from the rate in 2015 amounted to 266.382 units, so the targets set are realistic.

In the second quarter of this year, the net profit (net income) HD amounted to 240.4 million US dollars, or minus 6.5 percent. While revenue (sales turnover) rose 2.2 percent, with total revenue of 1.86 billion US dollars.
